First Friday December 2, 2011 at the HiSAM will be a slow art night with both Diamond Head and the Ewa Galleries open. Ruth Freedman with Harp Therapy will be providing background music which will flow through the galleries. Forego the crowds and enjoy an alternate, quieter First Friday. Stroll leisurely through our Diamond Head, ‘Ewa and Sculpture lobby Galleries. Hang out and relax in our Courtyard and watch the stars go by. Galleries will be open from 6:00 PM until 8:45 PM.

All galleries of the Hawai‘i State Art Museum are open to the public during the event, including the two latest exhibitions: "accessions: Recent Acquisitions from the Art and Public Places Collection" and "GIFTED: Donated Works of Art from the Art in Public Places Collection." Food is available from Downtown@HiSAM This event is supported by the Friends of HiSAM.

The Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts unveils two new art exhibitions on Friday September 9th -- accession: Recent Acquisitions from the Art in Public Places Collection and GIFTED: Donated Works of Art from the Art in Public Places Collection.

ACCESSION and GIFTED highlight extraordinary recent purchases and gifts demonstrating the exceptional work collected by the Hawai i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts over the past four decades. Also featuring Ledward Kaapana as featured musical guest

All galleries of the Hawaii State Art Museum are open to the public during the event. Food is available from Downtown@ HiSAM and several vendors on the Lawn. This event is produced by Tim Bostock Productions and supported by the Friends of HiSAM.

ABOUT THE HAWAII STATE MUSEUM

The Hawai'i State Art Museum is located in No. 1 Capitol Distric Building at 250 South Hotel Street. The building is situated in the historic Hawaii Capital Cultural District, across from 'Iolani Palace and the State Capitol.
