Opening Friday, November 2, FIGURES runs through Friday, December 28, 2012, the gallery will host a reception on Thursday, November 8, from 6 - 8pm and a talk with gallery artists during First Friday, December 7, from 6 -- 7pm. The gallery will be open to the public both First Fridays, November 2, and December 7, from 6 -- 9 pm.
FIGURES is the gallery's first annual themed, holiday-season group exhibition. It showcases new and vintage works about the human form by the gallery's artists who were asked to create new work or pick from their favorites to present to the public. The majority of the artworks on exhibition have never been seen and never been offered for sale before. Andrew Rose is exhibiting a new self-portrait photograph printed on metal from a new series titled 12 Grey Suits. Noreen Naughton is showing a rigorous and jazzy self-portrait with landscape in oil paint. Linda K‚ne is presenting a new feather and steel sculpture, Rack Attack, proceeds from which will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer program. Charles Cohan, fresh off his masterful Woodcuts exhibition, is hanging a monumental, multipart woodblock print of a mythological man turning into a tree. Marcia Morse is exhibiting a classic intalgio print from her Women in Black series. Wayne Zebzda is showing X-Ray Man -- a monumental skull with "x-ray specs". And Dalani Tanahi is displaying an 11-foot malo. For more information on the rest of the artworks or photographs for publication, please contact the gallery.
