DESCRIPTION

Curtis Kamiya Music + Nuuanu Arts Theater present A Night Among Stars, a semi-annual student concert series that showcases the talent of our studio's local music superstars. Sixteen musicians of all ages and backgrounds come together to perform with live house band Mango Season for an evening that celebrates new talent, live music and supports community engagement with artists. Awesome prizes from local Downtown/Chinatown businesses given away throughout the night and light pupus/beverages served during intermission. Doors open @ 6:00pm and all ages are welcome. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door all night.

ABOUT CURTIS KAMIYA MUSIC

The original Curtis Kamiya Music started in Seattle, Washington out of Curtis and Annie Kamiya's small apartment on Capitol Hill. A handful of dedicated and enthusiastic acoustic guitar students filled-out what was then just a side "gig" for Curtis. Over the next two years, the hobby grew exponentially and finally Curtis left his managerial job at The Guitar Center to teach full time.

Born and raised in Honolulu and Waipahu on O'ahu, Curtis Kamiya is a professional musician, private music instructor, mentor, music director, and recording producer/engineer. Curtis knew he would someday return from the mainland and open a studio that provide students a relaxed but rigorous venue for lessons, recording, producing, and - someday! - offer management of local artists with their careers. Today, Curtis is co-ower with his wife Annie of Curtis Kamiya Music, LLC, a boutique company that specializes in music instruction, production, and mentorship. The studio's private sessions are uniquely built around each client, drawing up learning style, desired skill level, musical tastes, articulated goals, areas of mentorship, and life skills building to enhance the learning experience. Curtis is also the leader and artistic director of the Honolulu-based band Mango Season.
