First Friday: 3rd Annual "Star-Studded Evening of Jazz"

Friday, August 1, 2014 6 -- 9 p.m., Hawai‘i State Art Museum, Free

First Friday returns in full force for August with the Third Annual "Star-Studded Evening of Jazz," coordi- nated by the Hawai‘i Friends of Civil Rights. Join us on August 1st from 6 -- 9 p.m. at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum for another exciting night of jazz with Chris Vandercook, Al Harrington, Starr Kalahiki, Sherry Graham, Ginai and the Chuck James Trio. Special guest performance by poet and American Book Award recipient Kathryn Waddell Takara.

Mark your calendar for First Friday in September for the exhibit opening of "Image & Imagination" in the front of the Diamond Head Gallery and performances by crowd fa- vorites Papana of The Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawai‘i.

ABOUT THE HAWAII STATE MUSEUM

The Hawai'i State Art Museum is located in No. 1 Capitol Distric Building at 250 South Hotel Street. The building is situated in the historic Hawaii Capital Cultural District, across from 'Iolani Palace and the State Capitol.
