GRAND OPENING!
Reyn Spooner announces Grand Opening of newly expanded and rebranded Reyn's Rack Store
Reyn Spooner, the Oahu based company known for its iconic reverse-print designs has announced their plans to expand and rebrand its downtown Honolulu discount store, Reyn's Rack. The twenty-year-old retail space will expand from 70 to 1,100 square feet, be renovated and renamed to Reyn Spooner. Reyn Spooner's Grand Opening event will be held from 5PM to 8PM during Honolulu's Chinatown's First Friday, October 2nd, featuring music, Hawaiian Fusion Pupus, and signature cocktails.
The newly renovated store will be built in the historic Honolulu Star Bulletin building, which is currently under construction. The building is located at 125 Merchant Street and is an extension of the Merchant Street Historic District. The two-story building once was used as a printing room for the Star Bulletin newspaper, as well as, held a rooftop garden that was used for social activities. Despite the changes over time, the building still retains its integrity of location and feeling, which gives Reyn Spooner an amazing opportunity to create not only a retail store, but develop a gathering place for the downtown area.
"Honestly, our store needed a renovation and we're going to make it truly something special", said Kirk Hubbard, III, President of Reyn Spooner. "We felt the timing was right to rebrand our downtown store, it's one of the coolest buildings downtown and we saw an opportunity here for the long term".
To maintain the vintage feel of the location, the very familiar Reyn's Rack sign will be incorporated into the new store's interior. The renovated store will still offer a "rack" section, which will give Reyn's Rack customers an opportunity to purchase discounted Reyn Spooner apparel.
The interior will be renovated, reflecting the same mannequins, flooring and furnishings as the sister Reyn Spooner stores located on Oahu. The location along with the historic nature of the building and the fashion scene in this area are some of the biggest reasons for the change. The newly renovated Reyn's Rack location now gives Reyn Spooner eight locations throughout the islands.
