Growing up in Hawaii photography was always something Bayly did. What started as a fun day at the beach taking photos with friends turned in to a day that would push him to follow photography as a career. An image taken at the beach that day was submitted to the Scholastic Art and Writing national competition. After receiving a gold award from the regional portion Bayly's image was put up against 200,000 other images with only 700 winning the Gold Key Award. He was selected as one of the Gold Key winners and his image toured the United States with the other 699 images.
After receiving an award he decided that photography was what he wanted to pursue as a career. From there, he started working with friends and soon became a contributing photographer and part time writer for Heavy Water Magazine in Honolulu. While doing that, he was also a contributing photographer to Go! Airlines in-flight magazine. He attended the University of Hawaii and soon transferred to a prestigious photography school in Santa Barbara, California, Brooks Institute.
Bayly spent 3 years at Brooks and in his final year of school he was hired as an intern at the famous men's magazine Playboy. He got to learn and work along side famous photographers Stephen Wayda and Arny Freytag. The skills and knowledge he learned from the staff at Playboy only furthered his knowledge and love for photography.
Directly after his time at Playboy he was hired by an award winning photographer and top studio owner Nick Saglimbeni. He was an assistant and was a digital tech at Slickforce. He got to work with many different clients at Slickforce including the Kardashians. Working with Nick, and these clients, has only added to his real world experiences. Today Bayly lives on his home island of Oahu in Hawaii. In 2013 Bayly opened his own photography studio in Chinatown, in Honolulu. He provides an array services including corporate head shots, architecture photography, glamour, product, and landscape photography. When he isn't out on assignment you can catch him all around the islands shooting photos of the surf and exploring the many landscapes.
