Hawaii Watercolor Society was established in 1962 by noted Hawai'i artist, Hon Chew Hee and strives to "… promote the advancement and appreciation of watercolor painting and the education of the public to its significance as a permanent medium." The society is also "… dedicated to the highest esthetic standards and … foster[s] interest in water-based media within the community through programs, workshops, and competitive exhibits." For the Translucent show, HWS members were invited to create ready-to-hang original "little paintings" in translucent watercolors and other aqua media. Small enough to fit in your suitcase, little paintings are a delightful way to preserve your memories of Hawaii. They are also a great way to start or add to your personal art collection and would additionally make excellent gifts to good friends. Also available are Christmas cards, note cards, and calendars that help to celebrate the season. Please enjoy these unique little painted gems and take one home today!

Hawaii Glass Artist was founded in 1995 with the focused mission to support glass art in the state of Hawaii. HGA's recognizes the cultural importance of art and both as a creative practice for artists and as an enhancement of life for the community. HGA aims to realize its mission of supporting glass art through education, access, and engagement.

The annual show at Marks Garage is a pinnacle event for HGA that provides a cultural platform for Hawaii based glass artists to directly engage the community through their glass art. This annual juried exhibition is open to all glass artists within the Hawaiian islands and truly is the only comprehensive representation of Hawaii based glass artists within the state. The exhibition creates an educational opportunity by presenting a diverse collection of contemporary glass art, hosting conversations between artists and the audience, and presenting live glass demonstrations during the opening. This exhibition also serves an important role of creating market access for the artists.
