July 2 | Emancipation Celebration
at theVenue, 6:30 pm
A benefit for PASS (a Hawaii-based 501(c)3) working to combat human-trafficking in Hawaii.
The Emancipation Celebration will include a testimony made by a survivor of sex-trafficking,
performances by local favorite Simple Souls, Youth Speaks Hawaii poets Sterling Higa and
Jocelyn Ng, Human-Rights-centered local band Black Square and DJ Kee who will be spinning
a mix of disco, 80s and hip-hop. Presented by Pacific Alliance to Stop Slavery (PASS) & Girl
Fest Hawaii. Suggested Donation Admission is $10. All-Ages are welcome!

July 8 | CyberNetics
at theVenue, 9:00 pm
An evening of all music and dance-Cybergoth, Industrial, EBM. Spinning tonight are DJs
Nightfox, Sniper Wells, Modboy, Shadowfaxxx, Christ and Nocturna. $10 at the door. 21+

July 9 | BlackSquare
at theVenue, 9:00 pm
Honolulu-based ska band, quickly gaining followers and fans. Mano Kane and Raised by
Wolves will also be in the house. Presented by Black Cat Tattoo and Downbeat Diner. $5 cover
at the door. 21+

A weekly showcase of current and often hard-to-find Indie, foreign, art house and documentary
films from around the world. Brown bag dinner and snacks welcome. Beverages and deli items

An unconventional documentary chronicling the state of the Earth, its climate and how
we, as the dominant species, have long-term repercussions on its future. Stunning

July 18 | Turning the Canoe
Looking to Maui's past to inform its future, this documentary charts a new course guided
by Maui's many stars in the field of sustainable living. Co-sponsored by Kanu Hawaii
Directed by Danny Miller. USA, 2010, 79 min.

July 25 | Sky Dancer
An inside look at the daily life and journey of Khandroma Kunzang Wangmo, one of
Tibetan Buddhism's great female masters, a living example of wisdom and compassion
in a world that so often seems to be lacking genuine examples of both. Directed by Jody
Kemmerer. Tibet, 2010, 45 min. Also showing: In the Minds of All Beings. This film
takes us to the 8th century birthplace of Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal, the founding mother of
Tibetan Buddhism and the greatest enlightened woman in Tibet. Blending legend and
history, it recounts an ancient story and shows how the wisdom and blessings of Yeshe
Tsogyal have continued to the present. Directed by Sarah Abbott. Tibet. 2011, 21 min.
