NEW ART EXHIBITION

Waikiki Parc Features Nate Ditzler

Nate Ditzler, a recent graduate from the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM), is the fourth up-and-coming young artist to be featured in a solo exhibition at the Parc Promenade Gallery at the Waikiki Parc Hotel. Four exhibitions that feature work by UHM art students or its recent graduates will be presented each year as part of an expanded partnership of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and the Halekulani that established its sister hotel, the Waikiki Parc as the Hospitality Sponsor of the Arts at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Ditzler presents two bodies of his ceramic sculptures in this exhibition. He states, "I contemplate the tension between the natural and the constructed worlds, and how that tension informs facets of the human condition."

Waikiki Parc, Hospitality Sponsor for the Arts at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa

Through the University of Hawai‘i Foundation, the Halekulani has established their sister hotel, the Waikiki Parc as the Hospitality Sponsor for the Arts at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Visionary in recognizing and providing much needed support for local non-profit arts organizations, Halekulani's management has now expanded that support to include a public institution. What began as sponsorship of UH Mānoa's Art and Art History Department has grown to broadly include other arts programming in the Departments of Theatre and Dance, and Music. This in-kind gift provides the opportunity to host exceptional international artists who can provide transformational experiences for our arts educators and students alike.
