  • First Thursdays Poetry Slam at Fresh Cafe - Thursday 10/1/2015

Join us this Thursday (October 1st) for a high-quality installment of First Thursdays at Fresh Café Kaka`ako!! As always, this HawaiiSlam show will be hosted by Kealoha and will feature:

-- An official qualifier for the 2015-2016 HawaiiSlam season. Normal slam rules apply, and the top two poets will advance to the 2016 Grand Slam Finals (on April 7th, 2016) that will determine HawaiiSlam's 13th National Poetry Slam team. Winner of this qualifier slam receives $100.

-- Turntable Sorcery by DJ Toki (Sisters in Sound)

-- Live painting by the resident artists (past artists include Solomon Enos, Aaron "Angry Woebots" Martin, Erin McCullough, Kimi Werner, The Storekeeper, Dhyana Zagri, Stanstill, Nabahe, Wes Ka'uhane, Neal Uno, Pancho Abalos, Mike Fresh, Manny P, Patti Bruce, Aaron Char, Mark Agnir, Jeff Lum, Samantha Goldman, Earl Washington, Clinton "Clean" Haness, Sequoia, Carol Tagawa, TJ Howe, Nikila Badua, Jeremiah Skurtu, Sarah Hodges, Hanam Mun, Risa Oram, and Melissa Soriano)
