Due to building renovation activities, the September 2017 Second Saturday and Art Off the Wall events have been cancelled. See the calendar below for details.

First Friday: a free, family-friendly evening of art and music. 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., first Friday of each month. Take the elevator or stairs to the second floor.

Second Saturday: free art activities for all ages. 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., second Saturday of each month. Drop in at any time, allowing at least 30 minutes to finish a project to take home. Ground floor Multipurpose Room.

Art Lunch: free "meet the artist" presentations. 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., last Tuesday of each month. Bring your own lunch to eat during the presentation.

The Hawai`i State Art Museum (HiSAM) is located in downtown Honolulu, near the State Capitol Building.

Second Saturday at HiSAM - cancelled due to building renovation activities

Art Off the Wall at HiSAM - cancelled due to building renovation activities, rescheduled to Saturday December 9 (session start times to be announced).

Art Lunch "Meet the Artist," Megan Porter - Science and Art, Tuesday September 26, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Meet Megan Porter, Assistant Professor at the University of Hawai`i-Mānoa, College of Natural Sciences. She recently participated in the ArtSci 2016 "Where Art and Science Meet" project. Professor Porter will speak about how animals perceive color.

October 2017

Hawaii Children & Youth Day. Museum galleries will be open; tours and activities begin at 11:00 a.m.

First Friday at HiSAM, Dayton Watanabe - slack key guitar and contemporary music. Free, family-friendly evening of art and music. This will also feature the opening reception of a new exhibit.

OUR MISSION
To promote, perpetuate, preserve and encourage culture and the arts, history and the humanities as central to the quality of life of the people of Hawai`i. HSFCA funding is provided by the State of Hawai`i and the National Endowment for the Arts. The HSFCA is administratively attached to the Department of Accounting and General Services.

HOURS:
The musuem is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed State and Federal Holdays. Always free admission. For pre-recorded information call 586-0900.
