Support holiday shopping for a good cause at the 45th Annual Mayor's Craft & Country Fair

Event scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall

HONOLULU -- Please join us for a Saturday filled with homemade crafts at the 45th Annual Mayor's Craft and Country Fair! All sales during the fair will benefit our kūpuna through programs offered by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).

The annual marketplace is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. The event is being sponsored by the DPR, the Hawai‘i Medical Service Association (HMSA), and Generations Magazine.

The Mayor's Craft and County Fair will feature over 30 DPR Senior Clubs selling a wide-variety of homemade items ranging from pottery to plants, memorabilia to holiday mementos and second-hand items. Money raised from this event help DPR's Senior Clubs with excursions, food, supplies, and other expenses for their 2020 programs.

Attendees can also visit many of the partner booths to uncover a wealth of information about services available to our senior population, in addition to shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables at reduced prices at the People's Open Market.

Kūpuna ages 55 and older are invited to compete in the Wreath Contest, sponsored by Cecile Sebastian, DDS, or test their vocal prowess in the Karaoke Contest. Wreath Contest entries are accepted from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the day of the fair, while singers can register for the Karaoke Contest by calling the phone number on this announcement. Please note that entry space is limited for the Karaoke Contest. Visit the Craft & Country Fair website for additional contest information, including entry forms.

Attendees are also asked to share the holiday spirit by bringing canned goods for the Hawai‘i Foodbank. Eyeglasses and hearing aids are also being accepted by the Ala Moana Lions Club as donations.

Admission to the Mayor's Craft and County Fair is free, but parking rates still apply.

For more information, visit the special event website or please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation Senior Services Program at (808) 973-7258.
