Pegge Hopper Gallery: 40th Anniversary of Banana Leaf 1979
- Tweet
40th Anniversary of
"Banana Leaf 1979"
Pegge Hopper’s “Banana Leaf 1979” is one of the first paintings in her Banana Leaf series that features her iconic style: flat planes of color, abstracted representational shapes, and a depiction of a lounging Hawaiian woman that ran counter to the common stereotypical “hula dancer” imagery. Her inspiration for “Banana Leaf 1979” originated from the organic shape of the leaf and using it as a motif that establishes the compositional elements in the rest of the piece.
Prints on paper will be a signed and numbered edition of 40 prints sized to 16” x 24” and trimmed to 20” x 28”.
Each print will be produced on Hahnemühle UltraSmooth matte archival fine art paper.
Limited Edition Banana Leaf 1979 Print on Paper
Prints on canvas will be a signed and numbered edition of 40 prints sized to 32” x 48” with a 1.5” gallery wrap.
A gallery wrap is a method of stretching the print on canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides of the stretcher bars and is secured to the back of the wooden frame.
