Voting for 2021 Neighborhood Boards begin on Monday, April 26
HONOLULU -- The Neighborhood Commission Office (NCO) announced today that voting in the 2021 Neighborhood Board election is set to begin on Monday, April 26. Almost all voting will be done online and passcodes will be mailed out to nearly 300,000 eligible voters. The voting period is from April 26 to May 21, 2021.
The NCO said passcodes will be mailed out to each voter on April 23, the Friday before the start of voting. Voters will use their unique passcodes to cast ballots online at www2.honolulu.gov/nbe via their computers or mobile devices from Monday, April 26 to Friday, May 21, 2021.
During this voting period, the city has also made computers available to the public to use to vote in the election at these locations:
- Kapolei Hale conference room D, 1000 Ulu‘ōhi‘a Street (Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Kapālama Hale, Suite 160, 925 Dillingham Boulevard (Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Any public library on O‘ahu within the Hawai‘i State Public Library System (see library hours)
The NCO strongly encourages voting online as it saves paper and keeps costs down, however you can request a paper ballot if you are unable to vote online.
To request a ballot by mail, voters may call the Ballot Request Hotline at 808-768-3710 no later than Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 4:30 p.m. with your full name, residential address, passcode, and pin number.
Returned ballots must be postmarked by Friday, May 21, 2021 and received by the NCO no later than Friday, May 28, 2021.
Online voting closes at 11:59 p.m. on May 21, 2021. Election results will be announced shortly after voting concludes. Newly elected board members will assume office on July 1, 2021. Candidate profiles and photos are posted online at https://www2.honolulu.gov/nbe/candidateprofiles.php.
