Construction beginning on Salt Lake Boulevard widening project

HONOLULU -- The public is advised that construction activities along a portion of Salt Lake Boulevard, from Ala Lilikoi Street to Maluna Street, will start the week of February 28, 2022 and is expected to be completed in June of 2024. During the first three weeks, the City's contractor, Goodfellow Brothers Inc., will be conducting tree removal and utility locations. In the following three months, sewer line reconstruction, mass grading and exploratory probing for underground utilities will be conducted. These activities may cause lane closures along Salt Lake Boulevard.

The total project scope includes, but is not limited to: drilling, grouting, excavating, trenching, demolition, utility installation, retaining wall construction, saw cutting, cold-planing and resurfacing of asphalt concrete pavement.

Work hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Parking areas along streets may be restricted and partially utilized for construction purposes during this time frame. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to observe all construction signs and use caution while in the area.

Bowers+Kubota Consulting will be managing the construction of this project for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Design and Construction, and can be reached at (808) 836-7787 for more information.
