Spooktacular Halloween events begin this week in your City parks!
O‘AHU -- Costumes, pumpkins, trick or treats… all things Halloween are available in your City parks this spooky season!
The frighteningly friendly staff of the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation dare you to enjoy the scary ensemble of special Halloween events beginning this week.
With so many free events for the whole family to enjoy, the below list in chronological order offers plenty of activities leading up to the horrifying holiday:
• Friday, Oct. 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hō‘ae‘ae Community Park
"Trunk or Treat in the Park" with a costume contest, free shave ice, games, and of course Trick-or-Treating! Online registration ahead of time on pros.hnl.info is recommended, or you can register at the event. For more information call (808) 768-6802.
• Wednesday, Oct. 25 beginning 6 p.m. at Kalākaua District Park
Come down to Kalihi for this costume contest and "Trick or Treat Lane!" For more information call (808) 768-6757.
• Friday, Oct. 27 beginning 4:30 p.m. at Kāhala Mall's Center Stage
Our Wai‘alae Complex staff will host this Halloween Costume Contest! Assembly begins at 4:30 p.m. with judging beginning at 5pm for eight youth categories up to 6th grade. Not interested in the costume contest? No problem! Join us for additional fun, prizes, and treats.
• Friday, Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at George F. Wright Wahiawā District Park
Get ready Central O‘ahu for a "Fa-Boo-lous Frolic" where you can trick or treat around the park while in costume. For more information call (808) 768-6779.
• Friday, Oct. 27 beginning 5:30 p.m. at Salt Lake District Park
Couldn't make it to Hō‘ae‘ae for their "Trunk or Treat" event? You'll get a second chance at this spooky Salt Lake experience! For more information call (808) 768-6739.
• Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ala Wai Community Park
Join us just outside of Waikīkī for "Alaween" to include pumpkin carving and spooky stories. This event is BYOP (bring your own pumpkin!). Make sure to save the seeds to grow a pumpkin or your own, or make a nutritious snack after eating all of that candy!
• Monday, Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lanakila District Park
Enjoy this costume contest and "Trick or Treat Lane" in upper Kalihi! For more information call (808) 768-6747.
• Monday, Oct. 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Beach Recreation Center
Get ready to impress with your best costume and pumpkin-carving skills as this North Shore facility hosts its "Halloween Costume and Pumpkin Decoration Contest." Online registration ahead of time on pros.hnl.info is recommended, or you can register at the event. For more information call (808) 638-7213.
• Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Booth District Park
Have a Happy Halloween in Paoa Valley with the "Booooth Bash!" For more information call (808) 768-6744.
