Downtown Shop Around, A Fun Event to Support Honolulu’s Small Business Retailers, Kicks Off in Chinatown on Black Friday, November 24, Through Christmas Eve, December 24
Honolulu (November 2023) – It's almost the holiday season, and Downtown Art Center is excited to participate in a local community event that is driven by and supports small local businesses in Honolulu’s Chinatown. Downtown Shop Around, which is set to run from Black Friday, November 24, through Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, aims to make the Chinatown neighborhood a destination for holiday shopping, dining and groovy holoholo fun!
The last Downtown Shop Around was held in 2019. The community event, organized by local business owners Camille Heung of Valia Honolulu, Roberta Oaks of Roberta Oaks Hawai‘i, Nicole Reid of Manifest Hawaiʻi, and Cindy Yokoyama of GINGER13, is a great opportunity for shoppers and diners to discover Honolulu’s Chinatown district, and get special deals, promotions, and exclusive swag throughout the holiday season. Shoppers won’t want to miss this year’s collectible shopping tote bag gift designed by local artist Druscilla Santiago of Adventure Fun Club, available at participating retailers starting on Black Friday with purchase of $50 or more. This year’s tote bags have been generously sponsored by American Savings Bank.
