Hi All Good Storytelling Friends,

The DAC (Downtown Art Center, (1041 Nu’uanu Ave. 2nd Floor- across from Hank’s Bar in Chinatown) asked me to line up storytellers for a monthly series. I take my turn on Saturday, AUG. 24 at 7pm

(FREE, but DAC asks you to
preregister…to commit.)
The July show was sold out, though there’s always room for walk-ins in MY shows! Still, If you plan to come, follow these links & claim a chair NOW please.)

WHAT SToRIES ARE YOU GONNA TELL, JEFF?

I declared this show would include Old & New Tales.
SO FAR, here’s a (changing) sketch of the program
NEW:
A short ‘Pele Sighting’ Tale told to me & audience at the Kona Library this summer…and a few other true “Saddle Road” encounters... with new PELE Collages (20 minutes)
A Serbian Folktale about a hero outsmarting the Devil (thrilling fun, 10 minutes)
OLD:
A lawyer’s offer to ‘help’ me go “BIG!” if I tone down my comments critical of America’s War in Iraq in the telling of an Arabian Nights tale (a Faustian dilemma.) (15 minutes)
An inspiring true tale of a Homeless Lady saving trees in Haleiwa (included in Chicken Soup for the Soul of Hawaii) (12 minutes)
 ...& MAYBE:
A Make Malo tale, and one about my 4th grade Report Card, the list is growing

I am warming these tales up on my tongue these days,
getting ready to share them with you. I don’t do that many
public shows anymore, so I hope you’ll come lend an ear!

FUN! STORYTELLING! YEP!
