Bio
Todd Schroeder was born in Brooklyn New York in 1966, like most New Yorkers his family moved to Florida where he spent the majority of his youth. His creativity started at a young age drawing designs consisting of interconnecting shapes with intuitive use of colors. His creations were not in line with the art being taught in his schools which brought an end to his formal artistic training. Over the following years he found pleasure in creating art for his friends and family utilizing colored pens and markers.
He joined the Navy in 1984 and is still actively serving. In 2003 while in Baghdad as the Intelligence Chief for a Navy Special Operations Team he was living in one of Saddam's small former servant houses. He had several hundred markers mailed to him. Over his time in Iraq he used his free hours to create colorful geometric art covering the walls and a majority of the dome in the house. Photos of the house are on his website. In the past year his inspiration has picked up intensity.
Today Todd is a self taught, highly inspired and driven artist who utilizes oils and acrylics in ways that optimize his ever evolving style and vision. Todd's art is a combination of all he has seen and experienced having travelled to over 40 countries and 48 states.
Todd is humbled by the positive responses to his creations and looks forward to sharing his vision with an expanding audience. He is a surfer, snowboarder and runner who is married to his wonderful and supportive wife Laura, they currently reside in Kapolei with a pack of 5 Rhodesian Ridgebacks two of which are fosters looking for homes.
